The Sir James Irvine Fund

The Sir James Irvine Fund is one of the projects of the Deans Court Alumni Association. Named for the man who had the remarkable foresight to establish Deans Court, through the Sir James Irvine Fund, the alumni association intends to raise funds from alumni donations to provide for the future of Deans Court.

Contribution to the Fund is easy. All money is held by the University Development Office. When you make a donation to the University of St Andrews, add a note to say that you wish the money to go to Deans Court. Your donation will then be immediately put into the Fund.

At present the primary focus is to help maintain the staffed catering provision at Deans Court, but more broadly this may include provision for alumni events; the purchase of items for the hall; contributions towards building maintenance, such as upkeep of the service kitchen; potentially bursaries for residents, and other like matters. Money raised from alumni events, such as formal dinners, drinks receptions, and garden parties, will also contribute to the fund.
